Catalogue raisonné: Accompanied by a certificate by Marie Ursula Riemann-Reyher, Berlin, dated 15 February 2007. Study for the wood engraving in the article by Charles Tardieu: La peinture à l’exposition universelle de 1878. L’École allemande. L’Art. Revue hebdomadaire illustrée, 5th vol., 1879, vol. II, p. 81-92, ill. p. 87 („Entre deux danses“). The caption refers to Menzel’s painting „Tanzpause“ of 1870, which was shown at the 1878 world’s fair in Paris (cat. no. 107 in the German edition catalog), whereas the painting „Ballsouper“ was not exhibited, according to the catalog.
