Oil on cardboard. 82 x 51 cm (32 ¼ x 20 ⅛ in.). Signed and dated in black brush on the reverse: August Macke 1913. Catalogue raisonné: Heiderich 457 / Vriesen 380. On the frame a label of Stuttgarter Kunstkabinett (see below). Minor retouchings, margins in places uneven. The painting is mounted on six wood ledges. Framed

The group of the three women was already established in two drawings in Macke's sketchbook no. 44 of 1912 (Ursula Heiderich: August Macke. Die Skizzenbücher, vol. 2, ill. p. 886/87)..
